Deadline for Wage Theft Prevention Act is Fast Approaching
The newly enacted Wage Theft Prevention Act requires New York employers to provide written notices to employees both at the time of hiring and also, beginning on February 1, 2012, on or before February 1st of each subsequent year of the employee's employment. We previously wrote articles that detail the requirements of the Wage Theft Prevention Act , the penalty provisions of the Wage Theft Prevention Act and the model notices that have been issued by the NYS Department of Labor. Penalties may be assessed against New York employers that fail to give the proper notices. Contact Michael McConville at 585.546.2500 for more information about the Wage Theft Prevention Act.
